divinità — moissanite and jade fine jewelry

The stone from a fallen star

Moissanite jewelry in sterling silver

Moissanite was first found in a meteorite crater — silicon carbide, born of a star rather than the ground. It refracts more light than diamond and registers 9.25 on the Mohs scale, which makes it both the brightest and one of the most wearable stones you can own. Ours are lab-created, conflict-free, and hand-set in solid sterling silver.

Moissanite vs diamond, honestly

Moissanite has a higher refractive index than diamond, so it throws more fire — the rainbow flashes you see when the light moves. Diamond is marginally harder at 10 on the Mohs scale; at 9.25, moissanite is still far beyond anything you will encounter in daily wear.

The honest difference is origin and price. Moissanite is grown rather than mined, costs a fraction of the equivalent diamond, and carries no extraction history. What you spend on carat weight you can spend on craft instead.

Moissanite pendants, studs and rings

A moissanite pendant is the easiest way to wear the stone: one bright point at the throat, on an adjustable sterling silver chain. Halo studs do the same at the ear, with a ring of smaller stones to widen the light.

Every stone is hand-set. We use claw and bezel settings that hold the stone high enough to catch light from beneath — the reason moissanite looks alive rather than flat.

Sky and earth: moissanite with jade

Moissanite came from above; jade came from the ground. Worn together they are the whole of the thing — brilliance and grounding, motion and stillness. It is the pairing divinità was built around, and almost nobody else makes it in fine silver.

Questions about moissanite

What is moissanite?
Moissanite is silicon carbide, first discovered in a meteorite crater and now grown in a lab. It is exceptionally brilliant, registers 9.25 on the Mohs hardness scale, and is entirely conflict-free.
Is moissanite better than diamond?
It refracts more light than diamond and costs a fraction as much. Diamond is slightly harder, but at 9.25 Mohs moissanite is more than durable enough for daily wear.
Will moissanite cloud or lose its sparkle?
No. Moissanite does not cloud, discolour or lose brilliance. A wipe with a soft cloth and occasional warm soapy water keeps it bright.
What settings do you use?
Solid sterling silver (925), hand-finished and rhodium-protected. Stones are claw- or bezel-set by hand so light can enter from beneath.
